The Three Rivers Way

Three Rivers has a big vision! It envisions graduating students of strong character who are good thinkers and have big hearts and a love for their fellowman.

Our school is preparing students for a life of service so that they will help uplift their communities and transform their country. The most important aspect of this preparation is character education. All students have classes in character education with the Head of School, and developing good character is a major focus in all the activities of the school. We are grateful that our students have been recognized for their good conduct and outstanding character.

To guide both teachers and students, Three Rivers has articulated 16 principles or standards for life at the school. Known as The Three Rivers Way, they have inspired not only the students and teachers, but visitors and parents and friends of the school. You can read these below.

/01

At Three Rivers Academy we see ourselves as the perfect children of God with unlimited ability and goodness.

/02

Every day we Know Good, Be Good, and Do Good while practicing responsibility, integrity, and kindness.

/03

We are becoming people of excellent character who lead lives of kindness, moral goodness, hard work, and a commitment to helping others.

/04

We are intrinsically motivated and take responsibility for our learning while our teachers are our guides and role models, not authoritative experts.

/05

We give our best in all that we do in learning, character, sports and outdoor activities, social life, and spiritual life, developing ourselves holistically.

/06

We do the right thing even when no one is watching, always taking the high road.

/07

We put our love of Kenya ahead of love of tribe.

/08

We are preparing ourselves to become leaders who will lead with integrity and fairness, serving all with equal dedication.

/09

We learn more by doing things (hands-on learning) in individualized ways at a pace best for each of us than by passively listening at the same pace.

/10

We are crew, not passengers.

/11

We are learning what our interests are and developing a sense of purpose bigger than ourselves.

/12

We girls are empowered to be fully functioning members of society.

/13

We boys respect girls/women and treat them as equals and fully functioning members of society.

/14

We are developing 21st century skills of collaboration, communication, critical thinking, creativity and innovation, character, and citizenship throughout our learning.

/15

We are becoming leaders and entrepreneurs.

/16

We are all types of Kenyans, racially, religiously, and economically.
